Hollow carbon spheres decorated with MoS2 (HCS@MoS2) were synthesized using SiO2 templating and polydopamine carbonization. The porous carbon shell enlarges the electrochemically active surface area, while flower-like mixed-phase MoS2 nanosheets expose catalytic sites. The ecofriendly electrocatalyst exhibits a low HER overpotential (0.3 V at 10 mA cm-2) and remarkable stability.
