Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of a video-guided neck exercise program compared to traditional printed exercise leaflets in patients undergoing neck dissection.
  • To assess the impact of the exercise interventions on cervical range of motion (CROM) and QOL.
  • To determine the optimal timing and method for initiating neck exercises post-surgery.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized controlled trial was conducted with patients undergoing neck dissection between August 2022 and November 2023.
  • Participants were allocated to either a video-guided exercise group (n=21) or a printed leaflet group (n=19).

  • Specialist supervision during exercise training is advised to ensure correct technique and maximize clinical benefits.
  • This approach shows potential for enhancing functional recovery and improving specific aspects of mobility after neck dissection.
