High focal adhesion kinase (FAK) expression in HPV-negative squamous cell head and neck cancer (SCHNC) correlates with more relapses. However, FAK and CD8 expression did not prove to be reliable prognostic markers for overall survival or relapse-free survival in these patients.

- Current findings suggest FAK and CD8 expression may not be definitive biomarkers for radiotherapy personalization in this patient cohort.
