Abstract:
In 2023 and beyond, nurse practitioners and physician assistants (advanced practice providers [APPs]) remain indispensable to the successful clinical operations of all gastroenterology practice models. Employment Agreements have become commonplace for APPs when seeking a new position after graduation, or after a promotion or career change. Understanding the terms and condition of an Employment Agreement and negotiating your optimal practice setting will enable you to meet your personal and professional goals. Hiring an employment attorney to interpret the agreement and help you negotiate your employment terms to your satisfaction is critical in reaching a "win-win" for both APPs and practices. This article reviews strategies and recommendations for APPs navigating new career opportunities.
