  • 97 patients with cancer-related neuropathic pain were enrolled.
  • Pain scores were assessed before and 7 days after corticosteroid administration.

  • 50 out of 97 participants reported pain relief.
  • Predictive factors for pain relief included: normal white blood cell count (≤ 8500/µL), low Karnofsky Performance Scale score (≤ 40), and intracranial tumor origin.
  • Statistical significance was observed for WBC count and KPS score.

  • Intracranial tumor, low Karnofsky Performance Scale, and normal WBC count may predict corticosteroid effectiveness.
  • These findings can help personalize treatment for cancer-related neuropathic pain.
