We created the Read-based Total-infectome Taxonomic Analysis Pipeline (RTTAP) to simplify complex metatranscriptomic data analysis. This automated tool accurately identifies viruses, bacteria, and fungi, aiding in antibiotic resistance gene profiling.
Area of Science:
- Bioinformatics
- Microbiology
- Genomics
Background:
- Metatranscriptomic data analysis presents significant challenges due to large data volumes and the need for specialized bioinformatics tools.
- Manual selection of databases, tools, and parameters complicates the analysis process for researchers.
- There is a need for automated, comprehensive solutions for analyzing the total infectome.
