Abstract:
We achieve the Rh/(R,R)-Me-ferrocelane-catalyzed skeletal transformation of 1,2,3-thiadiazoles with cyclopent-2-en-1-ones and regio- and diastereospecifically construct highly enantiopure cyclopentanone-fused dihydrothiophenes that are otherwise difficult to prepare.
