High levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) predict mortality. Combined elevated MCP-1 and hs-CRP serum levels are associated with increased all-cause, cardiovascular, and cancer deaths.
