The Use of Apitherapy in Oncological Exotic Pet Medicine

Abstract:
In recent years, the practice of apitherapy has experienced a renaissance as there has been an exponential growth in the scientific literature regarding this topic. Bee Venom Therapy (BVT) is only 1 aspect in the broad field of apitherapy and has shown to have application in oncology. One of the popular applications of BVT is as a treatment in Lyme disease in humans. The article focuses mainly on using BVT and intravenous honey infusion against a variety of cancer cells. Further clinical studies are needed to know about the efficacy of apitherapy in the fight against cancer in exotic animals.
