Abstract:
Herein, we report an iron-catalyzed transylidation reaction between sulfides and iodonium ylides for the efficient synthesis of S,C-sulfonium ylides under mild and environmentally friendly conditions. The approach employs an inexpensive iron catalyst, accommodates a wide variety of substrates, and is compatible with diverse functional groups. It provides a practical platform for accessing structurally diverse sulfonium ylides, with potential for application in organic synthesis. The scalability and downstream transformations further underscore the synthetic value of this approach.
