Abstract:
Continuous monitoring of aortic stress and diameter outside of clinical settings can provide valuable guidance for the perioperative management of patients with aortic aneurysms. However, current monitoring technologies are typically bulky, tethered to external electronics via wired connections, and restricted to measuring a single parameter, limiting their utility in continuous disease tracking. Here, we report a wireless miniaturized electromechanical (WMEM) system integrating a noise-suppressing mechanical design, multi-parameter sensing capability, and real-time wireless data transmission and control via a low-power chip. Through optimization of structural design, noise reduction strategies, and wireless integration, the WMEM system enables precise, simultaneous acquisition of stress and diameter measurements at lesion sites. Performance of the WMEM system was validated through testing in hydrogels, ex vivo porcine aortic models, and in vivo animal experiments, achieving measurement accuracy comparable to standard clinical instruments. These results confirm the feasibility and practical utility of the WMEM system for precise risk assessment and for guiding personalized therapeutic strategies in patients with aortic aneurysms.
