Abstract:
The FEN-AUREUS classification ((https://fen-aureus.com/) assigns patients with Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia (SAB) to phenotypes according to their portal of entry-skin/soft tissue, intravascular catheter/device, or other/unknown-and risk subphenotypes, associated with differential 30-day mortality. We validated this tool in a UK cohort of 915 patients, confirming its utility for early risk stratification in SAB.
