Abstract:
Current clinical and biomechanical evidence, though limited, suggests equivalent efficacy of several types of medial patellar soft tissue static restraint reconstruction procedures using tendon grafts. Yet, medial retinacular imbrication remains a viable initial surgical option to treat recurrent patellar lateral instability in the absence of major anatomic abnormalities, with good medium-term and long-term results.
