Design of the front optical system for a catadioptric zoom ultraviolet Raman spectrometer
None:
To address the technical challenges in wide-band coverage, large-aperture transmission, and object-distance adaptability in UV Raman spectroscopy, this study proposes a miniaturized ultraviolet Raman front-end optical system with a catadioptric zoom hybrid structure. It covers the 255-285 nm spectral band, 200 mm aperture, and 1.2-3.0 m object distance. Optimized by Zemax for three targets, the system features an optical length of 775 mm in long focus, combining compactness, a large aperture, and high energy concentration. Testing on dimethyl methylphosphate reveals minimal fluorescence interference, distinct low-concentration peaks, and environmental stability, enabling on-site detection of environmental and military toxins.

Raman Spectroscopy Instrumentation: Overview
The monochromatic laser source, typically using visible or near-infrared radiation, generates a highly focused beam of light. This light interacts with the molecules of the sample, scattering some of the light. Liquid and gaseous samples are usually tested in ordinary glass capillaries, while solids can be analyzed as powders packed in capillaries or as potassium...
