Wide-angle field enhancement and distortion correction method for laser scanning projection
Abstract:
For laser scanning projection systems widely used in advanced manufacturing, to shorten the working distance, extend the projection range, and ensure the accuracy of the projected graphics, this study proposes a wide-angle field enhancement and intelligent distortion correction method (WAE-DCM), which is based on an aspherical optical design and a particle swarm optimization BP neural network (PSO-BP) algorithm. To achieve this synergistic method, first, an aspherical lens optical design method was investigated, and a wide-angle field-of-view lens applied to a laser scanning projection system was designed using this method. Second, to solve the requirement of accurate projection at continuously varying projection distances, a particle swarm-optimized BP neural network model for distortion correction was further investigated. Experimental results show that an aspheric wide-angle projection lens can effectively expand the field of view to ±48∘. The PSO-BP neural network algorithm can correct the distortion. The maximum error in the experiments is 0.08 mm, with an RMSE value within 0.14. It ensures the accuracy of the projected graphics during the continuous projection process and provides a new, to our knowledge, solution for the performance enhancement of a laser scanning projection system.
