BOS optical system for temperature and chemiluminescence analyses in premixed flames
None:
This work introduces a background-oriented schlieren technique for simultaneous temperature and chemiluminescence measurements in premixed flames. The optical setup features a simple design with few components, greatly reducing image noise and computational requirements. A new thresholding algorithm, to our knowledge, is presented to eliminate iterative processing, allowing for precise flame-shape analysis through height-width measurements. Using Abel deconvolution, temperature and intensity profiles are reconstructed for five equivalence ratios (ϕ=0.88-1.08) in liquefied petroleum gas flames.
