Exploring the Perception of Ayurveda Graduates Regarding Simulation-Based Teaching-Learning

Background:
An outcome-based curriculum, supplemented by Simulation-Based Teaching and Learning (SBTL), enhances clinical skills, critical thinking, and decision-making in Ayurveda education through hands-on, realistic training.
Aim:
This qualitative study sought to investigate Ayurveda graduates' attitudes toward SBTL in their educational journey.
Methodology:
Two hundred and thirty-six Ayurveda undergraduates participated in the study, and closed and open-ended questions were used to collect training feedback on a five-point Likert scale. Ten recent pass-out Ayurveda graduates who had experienced SBTL during their training participated in semistructured interviews and focus group discussions.
Observation:
Thematic analysis revealed several themes, including SBTL's effectiveness in improving clinical skills, its impact on confidence and readiness for practice, challenges encountered, and recommendations for improvement.
Conclusion:
Overall, participants viewed SBTL positively, emphasizing its importance in bridging the gap between theory and practice in Ayurveda education.
