Summary

Modern implantable cardiac pacemakers (ICPs) showed no malfunctions or artifacts when exposed to radiation dose rates near the recommended 0.2 Gy/min limit. Battery life remained within expected parameters after irradiation, suggesting current ICPs are safe for radiation therapy patients.
