Abstract:
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) imides have garnered a substantial amount of attention owing to their unique optoelectronic properties and versatile applications. Herein, we report the synthesis of 1,10,11,14-peropyrene diimide (PPDI), followed by its sequential functionalization. Selective bromination at positions 3 and 8 of PPDI yielded PPDI-2Br, which subsequently underwent cyanation to afford PPDI-2CN. When implemented as an n-type semiconductor in organic field-effect transistors, PPDI-2CN demonstrated promising charge transport characteristics with electron mobility values reaching 0.1 cm2 V-1 s-1.
