Background:

Lack of longitudinal, nationally representative analyses on internet access and online health service adoption in China.
Crucial need to evaluate reach and equity of digital health transformation.
Understanding concurrent trends is vital for policy and healthcare planning.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe decade-long trends (2014-2025) in internet infrastructure and online health service adoption in China.
To analyze nationally representative survey data for insights into digital health evolution.
To provide a comprehensive secondary analysis of public survey data.

Main Methods:

Secondary analysis of data from China Internet Network Information Center (June 2014-June 2025).
Study encompassed 31 provinces, regions, and municipalities.
Stratified 2-stage sampling survey (ages 6+) using computer-aided telephone access.

Main Results:

Significant growth in internet users and penetration rates from 2014-2025.
Consistent increase in mobile internet users; decline in desktop/laptop use.
Online health users showed a V-shaped trend (2020-2025), reaching 393 million (35% of internet users) by June 2025.

Conclusions:

Sustained growth in internet access and substantial rise in online health service adoption in China.
Post-2020 V-shaped trajectory in online health use suggests pandemic acceleration and market consolidation.
Integration of health services into high-penetration mobile platforms is recommended for digital health strategies.
