The incidence of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) has increased globally to estimated 0,2% (CI 0,14-0,19) of all pregnancies as an effect of increasing cesarean section (CS) rates. Advanced PAS with trophoblast invasion into the uterine myometrium or into adjacent tissues or organs is one of the most severe complications in the obstetric field. These patients should be referred to a tertiary center with a multidisciplinary team. The previously recommended standard treatment, CS.
