Abstract:
Proteus syndrome (PS) is a somatic overgrowth disorder caused by a mosaic mutation in the ATK1 gene during fetal development causing randomly distributed postnatal overgrowth. Our patient with PS presented owing to several months of left thigh pain. Angiography demonstrated innumerable microaneurysms throughout the left internal iliac arterial system, as well as a fusiform 8 × 7 cm aneurysm arising from the left superior gluteal artery. We report angiographic findings associated with PS and endovascular treatment of a superior gluteal artery aneurysm using coil embolization.
