Research progress in non-precious metal oxide-based electrodes for electrochemical sensors toward nitrite

Non-precious transition metal-based oxides are among the most promising materials for nitrite detection applications owing to their excellent sensitivity, selectivity, low limit of detection (LOD), and broad concentration range. This review comprehensively summarizes the latest advances in nitrite sensors that use non-precious transition metal-based composite as the electrode material. With the advancement of digitalization, radar charts visually display multi-dimensional data through a radial layout, offering efficient visual support for multi-index comparison and decision-making. By constructing a radar chart, the electrochemical sensor properties of the five non-precious transition metal-based composite materials can be effectively compared. The performances of these materials are compared by the triangular shadow area surrounded by their three vertices, which represent the linear range, LOD, and sensitivity.
