Abstract:
The Check-up 35 is designed for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and kidney diseases as common lifestyle diseases to prevent long-term damage. It also serves to identify personal risk factors, verify and update vaccination status and provide counseling on individually beneficial prevention strategies. To date, it has not been proven that regular check-ups reduce mortality or the utilization of medical services [1]. There are several reasons for this: first, the examinations included in the check-up are insufficient. Second, the individuals who would benefit most often do not participate. Furthermore, the impact of prevention is difficult to quantify. Nevertheless, the check-up is an excellent tool for identifying individual risk factors and lifestyle diseases at an early stage and to react appropriately. It helps bridge vaccination gaps, reduce or delay multimorbidity, the need for long-term care and frailty until later in life, and strengthens the health literacy of the population. In this context, it would be sensible to address the ecological responsibility of each individual as environmental protection is also health protection.
