Clinical Symptoms Do Not Distinguish Sucrose Malabsorption From SIBO

Twenty-two percent of patients negative for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) had sucrose malabsorption. Symptoms do not reliably distinguish between SIBO and sucrose malabsorption, highlighting the need for carbohydrate malabsorption testing.
