Objective:
This study aimed to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Wound-QoL Questionnaire, developed to assess the quality of life of individuals with chronic wounds.
Methods:
This methodological study included 146 patients with chronic wounds who met the inclusion criteria. Research data were collected using the Patient Information Form and the Wound-QoL Questionnaire.
Results:
Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) led to the removal of item 17 due to a factor loading <0.4, and items 4 and 16 due to differences below 0.1 between factor loadings. The final EFA indicated a 3-factor structure explaining 75.03% of total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis results showed excellent fit indices: χ²/ df =0.528, RMSEA=0.000, CFI=1.000, AGFI=0.931, NFI=1.000, TLI=1.000, IFI=1.000; and acceptable fit indices: SRMR=0.093, GFI=0.951. The total Cronbach α coefficient was 0.92. Test-retest analysis with 60 patients revealed no statistically significant differences between subdimension and total scores, with strong correlations between the 2 measurements ( P <.001).
Conclusions:
The Turkish version of the Wound-QoL Questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for assessing the quality of life of individuals with chronic wounds.
