A novel pulsed electrospray ionization (ESI) source uses a DC arc for ion generation and electrospray initiation, eliminating the need for external high-voltage supplies. This DC arc plasma-excited nebulizing gas-assisted ESI (DCAPENG-ESI) enhances ionization efficiency and broadens applicability in mass spectrometry.
