Abstract:
Gram-variable organisms, such as Gardnerella spp. are difficult to determine with the Gram staining technique. We evaluated the performance of characterization of Gardnerella spp. by an UF-1500 Fully Automated Urine Particle Analyzer. The results showed that UF-1500 determines Gardnerella spp. in clinical urine and isolates as gram-positive bacteria.
