Abstract:
PLX5622 is widely used to study microglia in health and disease. In this issue of Neuron, a new manuscript from Cao et al.1 unveils a non-microglial driver of phenotypes previously attributed to microglia and provides a roadmap for more effectively interpreting microglia depletion studies.
