Abstract:
Breast and pelvic examinations and participation in labour and delivery are essential yet challenging components of medical training. Simulation-based training (SBT) helps students acquire these sensitive skills. This study evaluated the effect of SBT on self-reported knowledge, confidence, and preparedness among 81 medical students during their Obstetrics and Gynecology clerkship. Pre- and post-training surveys assessed students' knowledge, confidence in performing labour and gynecologic examinations, and preparedness. After training, significant improvements were observed across all domains, including confidence, preparedness, and knowledge (all P < 0.001). These findings support the value of SBT in enhancing readiness for obstetric and gynecologic clinical skills.
