[A CASE OF INGUINAL HERNIA MESH MIGRATION INTO THE BLADDER]

We report our experience with a case in which eroded mesh used for an inguinal herniorrhaphy migrated into the bladder. The patient was a sixty-four years old man, who underwent surgery for a left inguinal hernia three years ago. After the herniorrhaphy, he had several episodes of pain on urination. Various tests including cystoscopy were performed, but there was nothing abnormal. The symptoms improved, and the patient was kept under observation. Three years later, he reported urinary frequency. Abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and cystoscopy revealed a bladder tumor with extramural invasion. We performed transurethral bladder tumor resection. During resection, we found surgical mesh in the bladder tumor, and later we performed partial cystectomy with removal of surgical mesh. After the surgery the patient revealed good operative course and symptoms had disappeared.
