Objective:
The transition from integration assistance to independent living presents various challenges for those affected. The study examines the experiences of former users of a facility in northern Germany and derives practical recommendations.
Methodology:
Naturalistic, qualitative longitudinal design with five measurement points (n=18). Semi-structured interviews and content analysis (Kuckartz).
Results:
The participants consider structured information, targeted support, peer networking, and continuous exchange to be helpful. A confident attitude on the part of the support network and the visibility of role models are desired.
Conclusion:
The results suggest that there is a great need for change in reducing bureaucratic hurdles and improving access to the housing market. Further areas for development include peer networking and strengthening employee skills.
