A neutral monomeric indium(I) complex 1 stabilized by a phenalenyl-based N,N-bidentate ligand was synthesized and characterized. The complex mediates oxidative addition of I-I and S-S bonds, oxidative cyclization with an ortho-quinone, and coordination to a tungsten complex, forming an In-W bond.
