Abstract:
Errors exist in the model parameters describing sorbitol solubility in 1,3-dimethylimidazolidinium dimethyl phosphate ([mmim](MeO)₂PO₂) ionic liquids within the Van't Hoff equation, the modified Apelblat equation, and the Buchowski-Ksiazaczak (BK) equation reported by Abbasi and collaborators [Food Chemistry 320 (2020) 126566]. When recalculating sorbitol solubility in [mmim](MeO)₂PO₂ IL using the equation parameters, the results showed significant discrepancies between the model fitted results and the solubility values reported in the original paper. We detail these errors and refit the experimental data.
