Device Access, Gender, and Academic Year Influence E-Learning Patterns in Indian Medical Education

- YouTube was a primary resource for practical and surgical techniques (70.5% and 55.7%). Awareness of institutional LMS and NPTEL was low (12.2%), contrasting with substantial paid course attendance (60.8%). Female students and senior MBBS students showed higher engagement in assessments and clinical case learning, respectively.

- E-learning adoption in medical undergraduates is significantly influenced by device availability, gender, and academic progression.
- Students demonstrate self-directed learning through preferences for paid courses and social media/multimedia resources.
- Promoting institutional and free national e-learning platforms is essential to leverage these learning behaviors effectively.
