Introduction:
An involucrum refers to the formation of new bone by the periosteum surrounding a bony sequestrum. Over time, the sequestrum undergoes resorption via creeping substitution, ultimately leading to complete bone healing. This phenomenon is well-documented in the context of long bone osteomyelitis.
Method:
We report a case of an 82-year-old woman who healed spontaneously from stage 3 medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw following dentoalveolar surgery while on denosumab.
Aim:
The aim of this article is to highlight a rare instance of resolution through the process of involucrum, demonstrating its potential role in the natural healing of MRONJ.
