Hereby, we are presenting a new technique for the safe occlusion of an artery with coiling without a risk for distal coil embolization. Placing a partially crushed stent in the distal part of an artery and coiling in the mid portion of the artery can be safely performed. In this case report, we are discussing this technique that was used in a 43-year-old female with an unusual complication of reconstructive surgery for her head-and-neck cancer, requiring carotid artery occlusion to control severe bleeding.
