[A Case of Incidentally Resected Neuroendocrine Tumor in a Meckel's Diverticulum]

The patient was a 54-year-old man. He developed a fever during chemotherapy for recurrent lung cancer and was admitted to the respiratory medicine department in our institution with a diagnosis of febrile neutropenia. During his hospitalization, he developed anemia and black stools, and a detailed examination revealed small intestinal bleeding, leading to a partial small intestinal resection. A 3 cm-sized diverticulum was accidentally found during surgery, located 60 cm from the terminal ileum, and was also resected. Histopathological examination revealed a diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum neuroendocrine tumor(NET G1). Here, we report a case of a neuroendocrine tumor in a Meckel's diverticulum that was accidentally resected during surgery for small intestinal bleeding.
