Abstract:
Biometrics technology is undergoing a paradigm shift from static single-modal authentication to continuous multimodal sensing, combined with higher-performing algorithms powered by new deep learning techniques. This editorial reviews cutting-edge advancements and trends in the field of biometrics in four dimensions-novel sensors, modalities, algorithms, and equipment-as well as summarizes the contributions to this Special Issue, "New Trends in Biometric Sensing and Information Processing" by grouping them into the corresponding aspects of breakthroughs in this field.
