Abstract:
Poria cocos acid polysaccharide (PCAP), a bioactive polysaccharide from Poria cocos (PC), was extracted and characterized as a β-polysaccharide (4.503 kDa). Two chewable tablets were developed: Poria cocos chewable tablets (PCC) (42.60% PC powder) and Poria cocos polysaccharide chewable tablets (PCPC) (20% PCAP). Both tablets reduced serum uric acid, creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen levels, alleviated renal inflammation in hyperuricemic nephropathy (HN) mice, and upregulated beneficial Muribaculaceae. Thus, they offer reliable quality and protect renal function in HN via gut microbiota regulation.
