Abstract:
Hybrid closed-loop systems have revolutionized the management of type 1 diabetes by partially automating insulin delivery. Algorithms control the flow rate of an insulin pump and improve glycemic control as well as patients' quality of life. Explanations from Prof. Marc Breton, a researcher and designer of one of these systems, provide insight into how these algorithms work and their future developments.
