Abstract:
Recent developments in the field of colorectal surgery have introduced a range of new and exciting minimally invasive and transanal techniques. This review aims to synthesize current data and clinical insights across emerging areas, including natural orifice extraction, transanal endoluminal surgery, single-port robotic transanal total mesorectal excision, and lateral pelvic lymph node dissection. In this article, we provide a comprehensive literature-based analysis while highlighting key technological innovations that can augment the modern surgeon's toolkit.
