Emergency departments across Germany are experiencing significant workforce shortages, which are having an increasingly detrimental impact on their ability to deliver timely and effective acute care. This paper focuses on invalid action masking to optimize patient scheduling and throughput in emergency departments. The aim is to reduce the burden on clinical staff by cutting the time spent processing patient treatment pathways.
