Abstract:
Accurate fluid balance management in hospitalized pediatric patients is essential for patient safety, particularly in intensive care settings. To address limitations of paper-based documentation, a digital tool for real-time fluid balance management was developed and implemented at a high-complexity pediatric hospital. The system enables structured recording and visualization of fluid inputs and outputs, integrates medication and laboratory data, and is interoperable with electronic health records through the HL7® FHIR® standard, ensuring traceability and data security. Digitalization and interoperability allow the generation of clinical alerts for adequate fluid balance.
