An Action Research Study on Co-Designing a Mobile Health Monitoring Application for a 60-Year-Old Birth Cohort

Abstract:
This study explores the integration of public involvement into the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966. Using an action research approach, three co-design workshops were conducted to co-design a mobile health monitoring application for the cohort's upcoming 60-year follow-up. The workshops led to concrete modifications in the application. Despite challenges in recruiting a demographically diverse group, especially men, the public involvement activities were perceived as meaningful and well-received.
