Teachers, also referred as 'speaking voice professionals' are one of the most vulnerable occupational groups for voice related problems due to prolonged voice load, challenging work environments, and limited time and opportunities for voice rest. Despite the awareness of vocal symptoms such as hoarseness and fatigue, the interventions often remain symptom focused, ignoring the cumulative and dynamic processes that contribute to the voice problems/disorders. This commentary includes the "Voice Eruption Volcano Model," a conceptual framework that uses the metaphor of a volcanic eruption to explain how environment, lifestyle, occupational factors interact overtime to produce overt voice problems in teachers. Unlike static explanatory models, the volcano model emphasizes escalation, pressure build up and the importance of prevention and behavioral change. By integrating the model with the Transtheoretical Model of Health Behavioral Change, this article highlights its relevance for early identification, clinical counseling, and preventive voice care among teachers. The model offers clinicians, educators, and policy makers a dynamic lens to move from reactive treatment to proactive vocal health management.
