A new Peripheral(-muscle) Oxygenation and Perfusion (POP) Score may help detect early signs of infection or inflammation in newborns. This non-invasive score, calculated using tissue oxygenation and vital signs, showed promise in identifying neonates with elevated C-reactive protein (CRP).
