Abstract:
The directed selective C(sp3)-H silylation of 8-methylquinolines has been realized under palladium catalysis with hexamethyldisilane as the silylating reagent. This method leverages an intrinsic directing group, operating efficiently in the absence of exogenous ligands. Among the important practical features of this reaction are its site selectivity, functional group tolerance, and the feasibility of late-stage trimethylsilyl conversions.
