Introduction:
Nickel is the most common substance causing allergic dermatitis. Common clinical symptoms include dermatitis in areas of contact with nickel or products containing nickel. Nevertheless, nickel allergy can manifest with less common symptoms. In this article we present two cases of unusual presentations of nickel allergy. The first patient presented with diffuse dermatitis after exposure to nickel fumes. The second patient presented with dermatitis following intermittent injections with nickel containing needles. It is important to remember that contact allergy can manifest in several ways, and consider this diagnosis in patients with unexplained dermatitis. Detailed medical history is the key for the diagnosis.
