Abstract:
Efficient enrichment of trace bisphenols (BPs) is critical for food safety. Herein, a magnetic porous carbon (MPC) material (MPC-600) was prepared via controlled pyrolysis for extracting BPs from food. The three-dimensional coral-like framework and open surface mesopores in this material contributed to substantially reduced mass transfer resistance and abundant active sites. The adsorption of BPs by MPC-600 achieved rapid adsorption equilibrium within only 2 min along with high adsorption capacities (286.9-693.1 mg·g-1), attributed to π-π stacking, cation-π interactions, hydrophobic interaction, and the mesopore-filling effect. A method of magnetic solid-phase extraction coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography was established using MPC-600 as the adsorbent for the simultaneous detection of BPs. The method exhibited a wide linear range (0.06-200 ng·mL-1), high enrichment factors (383-425), and low limits of detection (0.02-0.03 ng·mL-1). Recoveries from food samples were in the range of 81.2%-114.9%, and the adsorbent was reusable for 20 cycles, demonstrating its high potential for practical usage.
